WELCOME HOME SOLDIERS IS A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE JOINED TOGETHER TO GIVE OUR TYLER/LONGVIEW-AREA SOLDIERS
THE HEROES' WELCOMES THEY DESERVE WHEN THEY RETURN TO OUR
EAST TEXAS AREA.
THE TERM "SOLDIERS" REFERS TO ANYONE ON ACTIVE DUTY WITH THE UNITED STATES ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE, MARINES,
COAST GUARD, AND NATIONAL GUARD.
OUR GOALS ARE SIMPLE:
1. When we are informed of a soldier's upcoming arrival, volunteers will meet him or
her at the Tyler or Longview Airport, or at an arranged location, with a beautiful flag line,
cheers, gifts, handshakes, and hugs as part of a Hero's Welcome.
2. Each active-duty military person whom we welcome in the Tyler/Longview Area
will be presented with a card of appreciation, gift certificates, and many expressions
of appreciation for what our active-duty military personnel are doing all over the
world to keep the rest of us safe and free in the United States of America.
3. Every military man and woman whom we welcome will know that her/his service for
our country is appreciated and that many people here at home are proud of them and want to
shake their hands and give them hugs.
4. If a soldier arrives at DFW or Shreveport and is driving to the Tyler/Longview Area, the
same Hero's Welcome Event can be arranged at a location on I-20. Other locations can
also be arranged.
